Scout Badges Easy to Complete at Scout Camp

See below for the Merit Badge Offerings and Pre-Requisites. View the Program Catalog for how the programs are broken up. Click here for Eagles Nest program

Advancement

Merit Badges

Use the schedule for Scouts to see which merit badges they would like to work toward during their week at Many Point. Merit Badges that have grey boxes overlap multiple merit badge sessions.

Swim Lessons is not a merit badge, but is very beneficial for Scouts that need help working on their swimming ability.

BSA Lifeguard is a certification that can be taken by adult leaders as well. Arrange training time with your camps Aquatics Director on Sunday.

First Class Adventure works toward many of the requirements in Tenderfoot, First Class, and Second Class. For more information, click here.

Program Registration

Parents and Scouts should give their unit's camping coordinator their program requests. Scouts will get into whichever merit badges they request. Once your unit has a campsite reservation, program request can be made by the camping coordinator through Black Pug Scouting Event software.

Troop Advancement

Units can work on merit badges together during troop activity time. Badges take around 4 hours to complete.

Older Scout Programs and Merit Badges

Scouts registered in older Scout programs may miss a day or two of merit badges. They can make up missed requirements during free time or in-site unit time. Scouts accepted into Tier 2 older Scout programs will not be able to participate in any of the Merit Badge sessions.

Age/Grade Requirements

There is a grade requirement for certain merit badges. See the program catalog for which badges and what grades are required.

Independent Study Merit Badges

Some badges can be worked on outside of the merit badge time. Scouts are required to meet a minimum of twice during the week with a merit badge counselor. The Scout receives a document with the tasks necessary to earn the badge independently. Merit badge counselors are available by appointment. All requirements are due before lunch on Friday.
